The Liberal Arts program at Aquinas College offers two degrees – a two-year Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and the recently established four-year Bachelor of Arts. Both degree programs reflect the rich tradition of Catholic liberal education, with required courses in disciplines such as Theology, Literature, Philosophy, Natural Sciences, and History. The integrated programs of study in the liberal arts provide for the education of the whole person, emphasizing intellectual, professional and spiritual development.
The Bachelor of Arts degree is formulated based on the conviction that Truth is One, and students have the capacity to discover it in its many dimensions. A strong core curriculum serves as an anchor of relevance supporting deeper study undertaken in the major coursework. Majors available within the Bachelor of Arts format include English, Theology and Liberal Arts. Students will also choose a minor in English, Theology, History, Philosophy, Psychology or Business Administration to complete the Bachelor of Arts degree.
The Associate of Arts is appropriate for those students seeking some college level study before entering their chosen career or for professional advancement. The curriculum is designed in such a way as to fulfill the core requirements of virtually any four-year institution while cultivating students’ sense of God, of self and of the world, realizing their own essential role in building up the human community.
