Mission & Program Goals

Mission

The mission of the RN to BSN Program is to expand on nursing education for R.N.s by:

  1. offering a completion program that integrates knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, business, and nursing that will foster personal and professional growth, experience, and identity in an environment that is based on Christian principles and
  2. graduating R.N.s that are prepared to identify and meet the health needs of a changing society and to continue advanced education.

Program Goals

At program completion, R.N. graduates will be prepared to:

  • exhibit ethical, legal, and Christian behaviors in all professional activities;
  • communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and technologically through the analysis and synthesis of information;
  • use critical thinking and problem-solving skills for sound decision-making and to help clients make sound decisions;
  • deliver holistic and cost-effective care to individuals, families, groups, and multi-cultural populations;
  • use leadership/management skills in a multi-disciplinary healthcare environment to plan, implement, delegate, and evaluate care;
  • collaborate with other healthcare team members to promote, protect, and improve health to clients at any point on the illness/wellness continuum;
  • provide evidence-based, clinically competent care to clients in a variety of settings;
  • anticipate changes in healthcare and respond through a continuous redefining, changing, and maintaining of competencies and preparation for advanced education through graduate studies.
