The Teacher Education Program at Aquinas College is committed to empowering teachers to make a difference for each student they teach. Our entire curriculum recognizes that every student, as a creature of God, is blessed with inherent dignity and eternal worth.
Aquinas College offers four programs in two areas to prepare candidates for education licensure in the State of Tennessee: degree path and certificate tracks for those already holding baccalaureate degrees. The areas of specialization are Elementary Education (K-6) and Secondary Education (English). Students in the Teacher Education Program gain extensive classroom experience that enhances the level of confidence necessary to begin the practice of teaching.
The Elementary Education (K-6) degree program is based on an Interdisciplinary Studies major that prepares students to teach multiple content areas as is characteristic in elementary education. The Secondary Education is based upon a Bachelor of Science in English and prepares candidates to teach English at the secondary level. The College also offers Education Licensure Tracks for each area...
Aquinas College also offers summer workshops for educators.
Aquinas College is specialized in preparing people for careers in nursing, education and business. Aquinas College students enter the workforce with an outstanding preparation for careers in service.
