Curriculum & Majors
Please note: Beginning in the fall of 2017, Aquinas will no longer offer degrees in arts and sciences, business and nursing, nor provide residential housing and student life activities. Aquinas will focus its academic programming on the School of Education and on course offerings in philosophy and theology. Read more here.
Students in the Aquinas College School of Business consistently characterize the learning environment as supportive, challenging and nurturing. Small class sizes allow students to develop mentor relationships with faculty and enjoy a more personalized educational experience. At the same time students are earning their business administration degree, they are able to pursue a minor in a Liberal Arts discipline. In their senior year, School of Business students look forward to completing a semester-long Internship in Business. The Internship course transitions the student from learning core business skills in the classroom to applying them in the business community.
Students in the School of Business at Aquinas College are currently working towards earning their degrees in Management, Finance, or Marketing.
Mentoring Program with the Nashville Catholic Business League
During the fall 2012 semester the Aquinas College School of Business was invited to participate in a mentoring program by the Nashville Catholic Business League (NCBL). NCBL is an organization of Catholic business women and men who gather monthly to reinforce each other in living their faith through their various vocations in business. Monthly meetings consist of Mass at the Cathedral of the Incarnation followed by continental breakfast; a brief sharing on one member’s faith journey; a 30-minute talk with Q&A on how to incorporate faith into a work setting; and a time for fellowship and networking. Nearly every business discipline from both profit and non-profit organizations is represented. The breadth and depth of experience in the group provided an exceptional opportunity for Aquinas students to receive career and spiritual guidance. The first mentor and mentee in the program were invited to share their experiences at a recent NCBL meeting and both spoke eloquently about the mutual benefits of participating. Brief quotes from the two are shown below.
“The mentor program provides an avenue for business students of Aquinas College to receive direction from some of the best Catholic business leaders within the Nashville community. My mentor was willing to share his personal experiences in business, family, and spirituality. Being mentored by a successful individual who had my greatest good in mind has been an incredible experience.”
“It is a great privilege and blessing to be part of the Aquinas mentoring program and work with such fine young people. I am afraid I am actually getting more than I am giving.”

Aquinas business students have the opportunity to meet and get to know local business leaders who can help them gain the understanding needed to decide upon and progress in their chosen careers. In addition to the mentoring program Aquinas business students also engage in a semester-long internship during which they have the opportunity to gain real-world experience relevant to their interests and majors.
