Admission Requirements

First-time Freshmen Applicants

If you are a high school senior or graduate and have never attended college before, please follow the following five steps to apply as a freshman:

1. Submit Application: Please complete an online Application for Admission.

2. Request official transcripts by submitting a Transcript Release Form to your high school.

High school seniors: Provisional acceptance can be arranged by requesting that official transcript(s) through the end of your junior year be sent to the Office of Admissions. A final transcript stating date of graduation must be forwarded immediately after graduation in order to complete your file.

GED Scores: If you received a GED instead of a high school diploma, contact the testing institution to request that an official score report be sent directly to Aquinas College, Attn: Office of Admissions. Note: GED recipients (within the last 5 years) must also present ACT scores.

3. Standardized Test Scores: If you are under 21 years of age, or if you have been out of school fewer than five years, an official ACT score report is required. If your ACT and/or SAT scores do not appear on your high school transcript, you should request that the testing service send them directly to Aquinas College. Use the following codes:

4. Immunization Records: Complete and submit Immunization Certificate at least one week prior to registration.

5. Application Fee: The $25 non-refundable application fee is payable through the online application. If using a different application method, please submit the $25 fee to:

Admission Criteria

Successful applicants must present one of the following:

• Minimum GPA of 2.3 and minimum composite ACT score of 20 (SAT of 950)
• Minimum GED score of 50 on the paper test and 500 on the computerized test and minimum composite ACT score of 20 (SAT of 950)

Conditional Admission

Applicants who do not meet the minimum criteria may be considered for conditional admission pending assessment test scores and/or other conditions specified by the Admissions Committee. For more information, please consult your Admissions Counselor.

Any student who is admitted to the college on academic probation and is required to complete successfully IDS 106: College Learning in the Dominican Tradition, in the first semester of attendance.

assessment Tests

At the discretion of the Director of Admissions, assessment tests may be given in English and math courses. Generally, the assessment tests are required for:

• Applicants over 21 years of age who do not have post-secondary education
• Applicants who score below 20 on the English or math sections of the ACT or below 480 on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT
• Applicants who score below 50/500 on the English or math sections of the GED
