Besides events and activities sponsored for alumni, there are many ways to get involved in the life of the College:
The Office of Admissions coordinates this community of volunteers who serve as a resource to high school students and young adults eager to learn more about Aquinas College. AAV activities include recommending prospective students, attending college fairs hosted by local high schools, phoning or interviewing prospective students, and contacting admitted students to encourage them to attend Aquinas.
Alumni Career Advisors provide students and other alumni with information about career expectations, jobs, internships and more. Your involvement as a Career Advisor enables you to be a friendly voice in an otherwise anonymous, often intimidating world of work. It gives you the opportunity to share your experiences with students and other alumni.
Because tuition does not cover the entire cost of educating each student, a situation not uncommon in higher education, Aquinas College relies on donations to the Annual Fund to cover the financial gap. Many alumni, parents, friends, and faculty/staff volunteers are needed each year to help raise these critical funds.
The Aquinas College Alumni Association welcomes all alumni to attend meetings and join the six committees: Admission/Recruitment, Alumni Giving, Events/Activities, Networking, Scholarship, and New Alumni. Through your involvement at the meetings and on these committees, you can play an important role in setting the direction for the Association and its programs.
Here's an opportunity to share your experience and knowledge with Aquinas students. Two or three times a year alumni are invited to speak to students as the guest of faculty or student organizations on campus. Please let us know if you have an expertise or an experience that may be of interest or instructional value to students in the Business, Nursing, Teaching or Liberal Arts programs, and you are willing to return to Aquinas to share it in a classroom or at a student function.
Return to campus to reminisce about the good old days, to make new friends, and to catch up on what has changed (or not changed) at Aquinas over the years. Enthusiastic class members are needed to help plan and organize your class reunion.
For more information about any of these volunteer opportunities, contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
