Come, let us adore! Join us every Monday in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 1–5 p.m. All students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are welcome to sit with our Lord in St. Jude Chapel during this time.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
While St. Jude Chapel almost always contains the presence of our Lord in the Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle, during Adoration, a priest places Jesus Christ, in the appearance of bread, inside a vessel called a monstrance so that all may see Him. While Eucharistic Adoration is often a time of deep personal prayer, there are no requirements for what one must do during this time. In the Garden of Gethsemane on the night of His betrayal, Jesus asked Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?” Many follow this request by simply sitting in silence in the presence of the Lord.
For any questions about Adoration, please contact Father Kevin McGoldrick, Campus Chaplain, at (615) 297-7545 x or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
