A Note from Sister Mary Sarah
Dear Members of the Aquinas College Community,
Welcome back to all students, faculty and staff! As we settle into our routine and prepare to meet the academic challenges that lie ahead this semester, we are mindful of the difficult and tense situation that is presently unfolding in Syria. To that end, Pope Francis has proclaimed for the whole Church a day of fasting and prayer this Saturday, September 7th, the eve of the birth of Mary, Queen of Peace, for the peoples of Syria, the Middle East and throughout the world. Pope Francis is inviting followers of other religions and all men and women of good will throughout the world to participate in this important prayer for peace.
At Aquinas College, we will pledge our support for this effort and I invite each of you to consider prayerfully how you might participate in assisting the leaders of nations to act for lasting peace for the peoples of Syria and the Middle East at this critical time.
Thank you in advance for any gift of generous prayer and fasting that you are able to offer for this intention.
God bless you,
Sister Mary Sarah, O.P.
