Synaxis of St. John the Divine

The Synaxis of St. John the Divine was created by students and faculty within the theology department “to seek the truth  of the love of God made manifest in the mystery of God’s self-revelation.” Participants meet every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in Room 110 during the fall and spring semesters for discussions and presentations promoting theological reflection.

The Office of Adult Formation of the Diocese of Nashville will be hosting “In Defense of the Faith,” a course taught by Aquinas College philosophy professor Dr. Benjamin L. Smith. The eight-week course is aimed at equipping lay people with information and insights to explain the Christian beliefs. The course begins Wednesday, February 8 and runs through April 5, with no class on March 8. Aquinas College established the Socratic Club to give students the opportunity to pursue philosophical living, learning, and friendship. The Club hosts a weekly philosophy colloquium on Fridays at 11 a.m. in Room 202 in the fall and winter semesters. This is an informal, but serious discussion about a selected philosophical topic. Free coffee and doughnuts.
