The Aquinas College Speaker Series offers the Nashville community the opportunity to learn from respected leaders from within the College and from all over the country. Each semester, our lectures cover a variety of topics — ranging from successful parenting to Jewish-Christian relations, from financial planning to ancient Christian devotional practices — delivered by some of the nation’s most thoughtful experts in their fields.

In May, long-time art history instructor Fay Renardson led a group on a tour of a few of Nashville’s architectural marvels of church architecture.
2nd Annual Shakespeare Celebration
The 2nd Annual Shakespeare Celebration took place on Saturday, April 23, the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. The full day of talks and performances featured Dale Ahlquist, Joseph Pearce, Kevin O’Brien and Theater of the Word, Dr. Aaron Urbanczyk, and the drama clubs of St. Cecilia Academy and Father Ryan High School.
Greg Greene and Wes Driver of Blackbird Theater discussed the challenges of adapting G.K. Chesterton for the stage, including their in-progress script for A Man Who Was Thursday: A Nightmare, on Tuesday, March 22.
Theater of the Word’s “Sarah’s Secret”
This powerful, two-woman pro-life drama, was staged by Theater of the Word, Inc. on Wednesday, February 23.

The Tolkien & Lewis Celebration

The Center for Faith and Culture at Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee presented the inaugural Tolkien and Lewis Celebration on Saturday, September 19, 2015, a full day of talks and performances on J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, two of the twentieth century’s greatest Christian writers. Presenters included EWTN hosts Dale Ahlquist and Kevin O’Brien, Aquinas’ Joseph Pearce, Inklings scholar Jonathan Thorndike, and Lewis scholar Devin Brown. The Center also honored the winners of the Aquinas Award for Fiction and the Tolkien and Lewis High School Essay Contest.
