Christ the King and Preparing for Advent

November 29, 2012

The annual Christ the King Procession and Mass, organized by Campus Ministry and Father Jacek Kopera, O.P., was celebrated on Sunday, November 25 on the Dominican Campus. Benediction and readings were given at each school on campus, including the White House. After the procession, Father Jacek celebrated Mass followed by a reception.

The Frassati Society has invited all Aquinas College faculty, staff, and students to a Vigil Night of Prayer on Saturday, December 1 at 7 p.m. in St. Jude Chapel. Vespers and Adoration will be offered to prepare hearts for the season of Advent. Father Jacek said in his invitation:

“The Advent mystery focuses the light of faith on the very meaning of life, history, man and the world; it is the time of real and actual preparation—for the coming of Christ, for the gift of His presence in the world—not by escaping from the reality into the business of marketing culture but by sober confrontation with imperfections of our human existence. Advent is about coming of the new rather than repeating or returning to the old because where we end, He begins and with Him, begins our new life.”
