There are several social activities planned for the student body throughout the school year. These include our annual Fall Festival and Spring Fling, Drive-in Movies, Halloween Party, Christmas Tree Lighting, Mardi Gras Celebration, and Family Easter Egg Hunt. Aquinas students are encouraged to participate in charitable events such as blood drives and the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
Our fall festival is usually a fiesta, complete with enchiladas, chips & salsa and live music; however, the theme can be anything chosen by the Student Activities Board. The key ingredients are good food and good fun. A variety of inflatable games and prizes complete the day.
The theme for Spring Fling is chosen each year by the Student Activities Board. Past themes have included "Wild, Wild West," luaus, "Red, White, and Barbecue" and a Renaissance Fair. This event is a great stress reliever for students because it falls on the last day of classes, just before finals week.
Each fall, the Office of Student Affairs sponsors free outdoor movies on the campus back lawn. Movies are chosen that will appeal to both young and older audiences.
All Hallow's Eve is always a fun time around here. Students are treated to chili and hot dogs in addition to all the candy they can eat!
A real New Orleans style celebration, featuring seafood gumbo, red beans & rice, French bread and King Cake. It's good, y'all.
The Alumni Association sponsors this annual event featuring inflatable games, an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 4-12, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Each year, Aquinas participates in the Salvation Army Angel Tree project during the Christmas season. Students, faculty and staff annually adopt 70+ angels from our tree, donating presents to children, disabled adults, and senior citizens who might not have a Christmas otherwise. Additionally, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to spend a day at the end of the semester sorting gifts at the Salvation Army Distribution Center.
All students are required to obtain an Aquinas College identification card. The ID card entitles a student to attend college campus activities and to use the library facilities.
