Student Learning

The mission of Student Learning Services (SLS) is to enhance the academic performance of Aquinas College students. SLS services include tutorial assistance and various learning skills seminars. There is no charge to the student for any of these services.

Tutorial Services

Students may be referred for tutoring by their instructor, advisor, department head, Department of Student Affairs, or a student may self refer. To receive tutoring services, an SLS tutoring referral form needs to be completed.

Student Learning Services provides individual and small group tutoring services – free of charge – for the following courses:

  • Fundamentals of English (English 012)
  • Elementary Algebra with Application (Mathematics 013)
  • All 1st and 2nd year ASN Nursing Courses
  • All 100 level courses
  • All Mathematics courses
  • All Theology courses
  • Ethics (Philosophy 215)
  • Anatomy & Physiology I and II (Biology 211 & 212)
  • PRAXIS I Test Preparation (Reading, Writing, and Math)

Seminars

Various learning skills enhancement seminars are offered throughout the semester. A referral form is not required for a student to attend SLS seminars.

Did you know?

The Aquinas Singers choir performs both sacred and secular literature, and is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater Nashville community.
