September 15, 2016

Jason Gale, Director of the CFP

Jason Gale, a native of Fredericksburg, Texas, joined Aquinas College as Director of the Catechist Formation Program (CFP) in the summer of 2015.

Service to Nashville and Beyond

Developed by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, the CFP exists to provide training and formation in the Church’s vision of catechesis and evangelization to parish and school catechists so that they may participate more fully and faithfully in their bishop’s role of teaching and handing on the Faith.

The Office of Catechetics at Aquinas, with help from the Nashville Dominicans and the Diocese of Nashville, forms catechists in the Dioceses of Nashville, Knoxville, and Lexington, Kentucky with both live and online courses.

A Conscientious Program

On working at Aquinas, Jason observes, “I enjoy working for an institution that sees the importance of catechesis and catechetical formation. Many times catechetical formation can be over-simplistic or somewhat generic. The sisters who developed the Catechist Formation Program have put together a theologically rich program with elements of beauty that will challenge the participants to deepen their fidelity to Christ by renewing their mind through prayerful study.”

What Makes Aquinas Unique?

When asked what makes Aquinas College unique, Jason answered, “Sisters in habits—an elusive and rare sight in most parts of the world!”
