Spiritual Life

Aquinas College aims to cultivate a student experience toward the formation of the whole person in virtue, wisdom, maturity, wellness, and Christian fellowship. We view the formation of our students as a journey of faith. Aquinas attempts to faithfully support our students as they move towards God. We seek to multiply the grace of God in our students by providing ways in which they may grow socially, spiritually, and academically.

The Gospel of John proclaims: “The word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth. (Jn 1:14). We attempt to bring the Word, which is Christ, to the students in a real way. Sacramental opportunities are posted outside St. Jude’s chapel. Mass is available daily in the chapel of St. Thomas Hospital.

Two campus-wide Masses are celebrated during the school year: the Holy Spirit Mass during the fall semester and the St. Thomas Aquinas Mass in the spring. While attendance is not mandatory, all students are encouraged to participate.

All classes at Aquinas begin with a prayer or spiritual reading. We also begin each meeting and event with a prayer. Other opportunities for communal prayer may be available.

St. Jude Chapel

The St. Jude Chapel is located on the first floor of the Main Building, to the left of the Office of the Registrar. Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are offered periodically in St. Jude Chapel. The chapel is open daily during office hours for personal prayer.

Corpus Christi Adoration Chapel

The Corpus Christi Chapel is an adoration chapel for worship of the Blessed Sacrament, located on the east side of the Aquinas Main building traffic circle. The chapel is reserved for adoration. Public prayer or services do not take place in this chapel. The chapel is open for several hours each day, 7 days per week, year round for silent, private devotion. For more information about adoration at The Dominican Campus, please visit the Adoration page.
