Theologians and Dialogue

October 18, 2018

Washington, D.C. – Aquinas College faculty members Sister Mary Madeline, O.P., S.T.D. and Sister Gabriella Yi, O.P., S.T.D. attended the USCCB’s Conference, “Teaching Undergraduate Theology: Connecting the Disconnects” in Washington, DC on September 13 and 14. The conference, funded by a grant from the Knights of Columbus and organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Doctrine, provided for interface between bishops and senior and untenured professors of theology.

The two days of talks, as well as shared prayer and meals, provided a context for true dialogue and mutual support. Conference talks by attending bishops and senior professors focused on reconnecting the seemingly disconnected realities at the heart of the unity of the faith: Christ and the Church, truth and charity, and Scripture and Tradition. Animated conversation enabled participants to discuss real concerns and best practices in handing on the faith in the setting of the university today.
