Catholic Education for Healing, Wholeness, and . . . Joy

Our world is wounded, and the ongoing trauma of daily headlines and experiences within our communities affects teachers, students, and families; it can be easy to become both exhausted and discouraged. Yet, Catholic education can play an important role in the healing of our world today. This presentation will look at three important practices that educators can employ for the healing and flourishing of their school communities, their students, and even for themselves. By exploring Church teaching along with current research in education, health, and wellness, we will discover the role that Sabbath, literature (the narratio) across the curriculum, and joy can play in discovering the wholeness and flourishing for which we long.
