Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
Forming Catechists. Nurturing the Spiritual Life of Children.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based Catholic faith formation program that helps children encounter the person of Jesus Christ through Scripture, liturgy, and prayer. Rooted in the belief that God and the child are already in relationship, CGS creates a sacred space where that relationship can deepen and flourish.
Aquinas College is proud to support the growth of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd through catechist formation, community building, and educational outreach. Through intensive residential courses, participants receive both practical training and spiritual formation, equipping them to serve children in parishes, schools, and atria throughout the Church.
Summer 2026 Formation Courses
We are grateful for the many catechists who participated in our Summer 2026 residential formation courses. Their enthusiasm, prayerful engagement, and commitment to the spiritual formation of children made for a wonderful summer of learning and fellowship.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2027
Aquinas College plans to offer additional Catechesis of the Good Shepherd formation opportunities during Summer 2027. Dates and registration information will be announced as they become available.
We invite you to check back for updates.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to attend the CGS training and retreat. I am so incredibly grateful for the experience. Everything was so beautiful – I especially loved the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd with Sister Maria Teresita—she was so amazing and a wealth of knowledge!

One of my favorite parts was simply being able to live alongside all the sisters—praying together at evening Vespers, attending daily Mass, and sharing in the rhythm of your community life. Being surrounded by so much love, joy, and God’s blessings was a gift beyond words.
The formation was a true blessing, and I will carry its peace, beauty, and the kindness you all showed me with gratitude in my heart. Thank you again for your generosity and for welcoming me so warmly. It was truly a gift.“
