Dominican Fest 2026 — Aquinas College - Nashville, Tennessee

Dominican Fest 2026

Posted on Thursday, August 20, 2026

In celebration of the Feast of St. Dominic on August 8th, the Dominican Campus community, including Aquinas College, Overbrook Catholic School, and St. Cecilia Academy, gathered on the White House lawn for Dominican Fest, an evening of fellowship, food, and music. The event welcomed friends of the Dominican Campus from across the region, as well as guests who traveled from out of state to join in the celebration.

The highlight of the evening was a concert by the Hillbilly Thomists, a bluegrass band composed of Dominican friars, performing the final stop of their Strange Land Tour. Although Nashville’s forecast called for isolated thunderstorms, the rain did not dampen the festivities. When weather moved in, the celebration continued indoors at the Overbrook Catholic School gym, where the band concluded its performance with a stirring rendition of the beloved spiritual, “Give Me Jesus.”

The evening ended on a prayerful note as the Dominican Sisters joined the Hillbilly Thomists in leading Night Prayer for all gathered. Through joyful fellowship, music, and prayer, Dominican Fest offered a fitting celebration of our founder and patron of our Dominican campus.

Holy Father St. Dominic, pray for us!
