Endowing the Church’s Song: A Sponsorship Initiative

Singing the Hours

An Invitation to Sustain the Church’s Sung Prayer

The Church’s liturgical prayer has always been carried by voices—formed, faithful voices shaped by tradition, discipline, and love for the sacred. Today, as the Church prepares to receive a new English edition of the Liturgy of the Hours, the need for well-formed musicians and singers is especially urgent.

This summer workshop exists to meet that need. It brings together singers, church musicians, and pastoral leaders for intensive formation in the Church’s sung prayer—formation that unites theological depth, musical excellence, and lived liturgical experience. Participants do not simply study the Divine Office; they pray it, sing it, and learn to carry it back to the communities they serve.

Yet many of those most eager—and most needed—lack the financial means to attend. Tuition, meals, and lodging can place this kind of formation out of reach, particularly for parish musicians, young professionals, and those serving in smaller or under-resourced communities.

This sponsorship initiative invites you to help bridge that gap.

By contributing toward participant costs, sponsors make it possible for dedicated musicians to receive formation that will bear fruit far beyond a single week. Your support helps ensure that the Church’s prayer continues to be sung with reverence, confidence, and fidelity—now and for generations to come. What you make possible is not only education, but prayer itself: prayer learned deeply, sung beautifully, and offered daily in parishes, schools, and religious communities throughout the Church.

Become a Sponsor

Sponsors may support an individual participant, contribute to a general scholarship fund, or underwrite a portion of the workshop’s costs. Every gift—large or small—helps ensure that this sacred patrimony remains accessible to those called to serve it.

The cost of one five-day intensive residential Singing the Hours registration is $1,100 per participant, which includes instruction, lodging, and meals. Each workshop serves up to 24 participants, creating a deeply prayerful and formative community. Your gift—at any level—helps ensure that financial limitations do not prevent an musically-gifted individual from responding to God’s call.

Antiphon Ally — $300
Supports a participant by offsetting a portion of tuition and expenses.

Psalm Partner — $550

Canticle Champion — $26,400

By sponsoring Singing the Hours, you are investing in the renewal of sacred prayer and song—equipping faithful leaders to bring the Divine Office to parishes, communities, and ministries for years to come.

Your generosity gives voice to prayer, forms hearts, and helps the Church sing her praise.
