Aquinas 60th Anniversary Picnic

Posted on Tuesday, June 14, 2022

When the members of the Anniversary Committee began considering ways to mark the 60th anniversary, they discussed the characteristic that made their Aquinas experience unique. Without exception, each person said it was the sense of community that existed there. The picnic and its joyful spirit both gave abundant evidence of that quality and lived up to the very definition of picnic – “a pleasant or amusingly carefree experience” (Meriam Webster online dictionary).

An estimated 300 people gathered to celebrate the 60 years of Catholic higher education in middle Tennessee. Picnic goers enjoyed grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, Hunt Brothers Pizza, and Katie’s Ice Cream while being entertained by Anthony the Balloon Kid and games and face painting for the children of all ages.

Thank you to all who came to celebrate the impact of Aquinas for these past 60 years. Here’s to the next 60!
