The Center for Catholic Education at Aquinas College serves Catholic elementary and secondary schools by providing spiritual and professional formation opportunities in the area of mission and Catholic identity.
About the Center
Formation may be given for faculty and staff members of individual schools or on a diocesan level.
Initiatives
- The Aquinas College Catechist Formation Program: enjoy six courses of formative videos for free.
- Praying as a Family workshops to assist families in bringing Christ into their homes and family lives
- Virtues in Practice Program in-services for schools wishing to implement this free online K-8 curriculum for forming students in the virtues

Sister Elizabeth Anne Allen, O.P., Ed.D. is a member of the faculty of the School of Education and founding Director of the Center for Catholic Education at Aquinas College. Her doctoral research concerns student perspectives of Catholic identity as it is expressed and lived out in their schools. Having served in the roles of teacher and administrator on the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels, Sister is passionate about the importance of teaching and is involved nationally with the professional formation of educators.
