Retreat Description
A mother’s work is never done, because where there is life, there is a need for nurture. But a mother’s heart also needs to be nurtured by nature and by grace in order to be the heart of the home. Join us in this retreat to allow your heart as a mother to be nurtured in spirit and in truth!
This retreat will include opportunities for Mass, Confession, and Eucharistic Adoration.
Retreat Speakers
Sister Gabriella, O.P. and Claire Lawhorne
Sister Gabriella Yi is a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia in Nashville. As a child, she emigrated with her family from Seoul to the Philadelphia area. Sister teaches theology at Aquinas College and loves leading retreats, especially for women. Her interests include arranging flowers and eating dark chocolate.
Claire Lawhorne, a Nashville native, graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Human and Organizational Development in 2009. She lives in Georgia with her husband and their four lively children. In her free time, Claire enjoys meeting friends for coffee and curling up with a good book.
Schedule
The retreat begins on Friday at 5:30 p.m., with check-in beginning at 4 p.m., and concludes by 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Retreatants are strongly encouraged to attend the full retreat.
Residential Immersion & Participation Expectations
This retreat is intentionally designed as a fully immersive residential experience. Retreatants are expected to stay onsite for the duration of the retreat.
Living, praying, and sharing meals together creates a depth of formation that cannot be replicated in a commuter model. Many retreatants find that the informal conversations, shared silence, and unstructured time together are among the most formative aspects of the weekend.
Meals and Lodging
All meals, as well as snacks, will be provided, beginning with dinner on Friday, June 26 and concluding with breakfast on Sunday, June 28. Overnight accommodations (two nights) are provided at the beautiful on-site Siena Hall Conference Center. Each participant will be provided a private spacious bedroom and a Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared with one other retreatant.
Registration
Registration for this retreat is $495 per retreatant.
Space in this retreat is limited to 36* women. To secure a place on the retreat, please complete the online registration form and submit payment. Payment may be made via check mailed to Aquinas College (4210 Harding Pike, Nashville TN 37205) or via online credit card payment.
Cancellations before June 1 will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations after June 1 will not receive a refund.
* Note that a minimum of 15 women is required for the retreat to be offered. If this minimum is not reached by June 1, all registration fees will be refunded.
