Students must meet with their academic advisor to complete an Intent to Graduate Form at least 1‑2 semesters prior to their final semester.

Review and Reconcile Your Student Account

Students should review their student account throughout the semester to ensure there are no holds on their account. Please contact the Student Accounts Office to review and/or reconcile your account. Reconciliation of obligations to the College must be made before diplomas and/or transcripts will be released.

Check for Commencement Notifications and Information

Students need to frequently check and read their Aquinas emails and the student portal for notifications and information regarding Commencement.

Order Academic Regalia

Students who anticipate participating in Commencement are expected to wear academic regalia as distributed by the College. As Commencement is a formal ceremony, it is customary for laity to wear the academic gown over business attire and Sisters to wear their mantel in lieu of the academic gown.

Candidates for graduation must place an order for academic regalia prior to March 2, 2018. Candidates are asked to visit the Office of Academics for academic regalia stored in-house prior to placing an online order at

 Important note: Students who do not order their academic regalia by the specified deadline may not be eligible to participate in Commencement.

     Deadline to ordering academic regalia: 
          For December 2017, May 2018, and August 2018 Candidates for Graduation:  March 2, 2018

 Attend the Commencement Practice

Commencement Practice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018. Students who expect to attend Commencement are expected to attend the practice. Academic regalia will be available for pick up immediately following the practice. Students must receive and sign for their own regalia in person. These items will not be released to anyone in lieu of the graduating student. Students who do not pick up regalia by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 will not be allowed to participate in Commencement.

Commencement is a ceremony.
Graduation signifies the official completion of all degree requirements.
They are NOT the same thing.
Attending Commencement does not mean that you have graduated.
